Cohort #4 Completes Digital Skills Training Program
We are pleased to announce that our 4th cohort of students recently completed their digital skills training, marking an incredible six-month journey with these talented young women!
Our staff has watched this cohort exhibit remarkable growth during their time at RefuSHE. Most students began the course with only basic computer skills, but today, many can write simple code, design websites, and navigate the online freelancing world. During the six-month curriculum, students acquired valuable skills in graphic design, digital marketing, data entry, and data analysis.
Beyond gaining technical abilities, our training also provided students with crucial business skills. Students learned how to set up a business, manage clients, handle finances, and other relevant competencies that will enable them to start and manage their own small businesses, both online and offline.
At RefuSHE, our holistic model supports all of our programming. We believe that is important for all young women and girls, and especially refugees, to have access to mental health resources. Throughout the six-month period, we ensured that students had access to mental health services, including group and individual counseling and trauma-informed yoga. These resources provided them with tools to navigate life stressors and manage their mental health in the outside world.
Our holistic model of care also addressed other needs, including access to meals, sanitary towels, transportation to campus, and assistance with documentation issues, especially for refugee students.
These empowered young women are now ready to apply their skills in the freelancing world and are well-prepared to secure employment and build thriving careers in the digital space.
Our commitment remains steadfast: to protect, educate, and empower young refugee women so they are no longer defined by their challenges, but by their potential to become powerful and resilient individuals!
