Hello From Our New CEO, Jailan Adly

Dear RefuSHE friends and supporters,

I am delighted and honored to be stepping into the role of Chief Executive Officer at RefuSHE.

Over the past ten years, RefuSHE has grown and expanded its services to reach thousands of unaccompanied refugee girls and young women. It is my honor to build on the legacy of my predecessors and steward RefuSHE’s exceptional programs into our second decade of impact. We are, as always, dedicated to providing holistic care to the world’s most vulnerable refugees. I’m eager to work with our many supporters and stakeholders to design a future that can serve even more refugee women and girls.

I’m humbled by the vote of confidence. In addition to education and training, we provide shelter to young women, girls, and their children who see our organization as their home in a time of immense vulnerability in their lives. The magnitude of that responsibility doesn’t escape me.

Last month, I had the opportunity to travel to Kenya for our 10-Year Anniversary Gala Celebration hosted by the British High Commissioner, H.E. Mr. Nic Hailey. The gala included a fashion show highlighting the work of the artisans in our social enterprise. In addition to designing custom looks, our RefuSHE artisans modeled the designs themselves to rousing cheers from the audience. I will always remember witnessing our young women light-up as they hit that stage.

The women and girls we serve are the embodiment of courage, strength, and resilience. Faced with unimaginable circumstances - what they seek is opportunity. The opportunity to pursue their education and gain the skills needed to provide a healthy and safe environment for themselves and their children. I am excited to work alongside such a dedicated and ambitious team to continue delivering on RefuSHE’s one-of-a-kind mission and award-winning holistic programming.

As we enter this new chapter, I look forward to connecting and collaborating with you. In partnership, I am confident we can take the organization to new heights.
