The global refugee crisis is more severe today than ever before. There are now 100 million forcibly displaced people around the world, including 27 million refugees—more than at any time in modern history.

RefuSHE meets the unique needs of urban refugee girls in Kenya who are excluded from the formal labor market and vulnerable to sexual and gender-based violence. Our model aligns with broader government initiatives related to education, skills development, employment, and economic growth. The challenge? The demand for our services far outstrips the number of people we can currently assist.

RefuSHE’s Girls Empowerment Program (GEP) provides refugee girls with the unique opportunity to complete their education and develop the skills they need to earn an income. Your monthly gift will provide refugee girls with:

  • Daily nutritious breakfast and lunch

  • Transportation stipends to/from school

  • School supplies, including pens, notebooks, and textbooks

  • Menstrual hygiene products

  • Vocational and life skills training

  • Off-campus field trips

  • Free onsite daycare

  • Mental health counseling
